Owen predicts results for Ajax vs Chelsea

Former Manchester United and Liverpool player Michael Owen has predicted that Chelsea will draw against Ajax this week. The Blues are preparing to face the Dutch champions in their third UCL game of the season.

Lampard’s men are currently in good form, having won their last six games in all competitions. In the Champions League, the Blues bounced back from a 1-0 defeat against Valencia with a 2-1 win over Lille last month.

Ajax have also impressed in their league campaign, having scored 16 goals and conceded only three in the process.

“Ajax are unbeaten in all competitions so far this season (W13 D4) and their last defeat came on that famous night back in May when Spurs made a dramatic late comeback in the semi-final second leg to qualify for the final in Madrid,” Owen wrote in his column for BetVictor.

“The hosts have won both group games 3-0 so far this season but I feel Frank Lampard’s exciting and improving side can get a hard-earned point in the Johan Cruyff Arena.”

“The Blues have not lost in their last nine away games in European competition and I expect them to pick up a valuable point in midweek.”
