Chelsea has reached a decision on the future of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The future of Chelsea’s club-record signing was under a lot of scrutinies. In his first two seasons at the club, he has come under the scanner a lot. He was first involved in an on-pitch altercation with the former manager Maurizio Sarri which did not show him in a good light.

Things got worse for him this season as the world’s most expensive goalkeeper had a poor run of form. He ranked 127 out of 132 goalkeepers in terms of shots saved from inside the box. Kepa was subsequently dropped for a run of important matches and replaced by 38-year-old Willy Caballero.

Reports circulated that Frank was looking for a new goalkeeper with AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, Ajax’s Andre Onana and Barcelona’s Marc Andre Ter-Stegen lined up to replace Kepa.

However, the suspension of football has had negative economic effects on the finances of every club in Europe. It has led to wage reductions and cutting down costs. This has led Chelsea to rethink their policy on signing Kepa Arrizabalaga and the player will be given a chance to stay and perform at the club for the 2020-21 season.
