Ruben Loftus- Cheek is seeking assurances regarding his involvement next season before putting pen to paper to a new Chelsea contract.

The English midfielder hasn’t been featured regularly this season as Maurizio Sarri has mostly opted for a stable midfield trio for the most of the season. Talks over a new deal could take place very soon as the Blues hierarchy wants to tie him down to a new contract.

The 23 year old’s existing contract is set to expire in two years but he is expected to be offered a new deal to extend his association with the club. The midfielder impressed in his loan spell at Crystal Palace last season which also earned him a ticket to the Russia World Cup.

He has been extensively used by Maurizio Sarri in the second half of the season and the gaffer seems to be delighted with his performance. Despite all the plaudits the youngster wants to feature more regularly next season and will only sign on the dotted paper if his wish is fulfilled.
