Jadon Sancho used to support Chelsea when he was younger.

When asked about who his heroes were when he was a kid, the Borussia Dortmund winger told talkSPORT: “I’d probably say Frank Lampard. I was a Chelsea fan growing up, I can’t lie!

“Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard were my favourite players at the time.

“I just love Frank Lampard and how he played his game; he was so direct and so composed on the ball. I like things like that.”

Now, reports suggest that Sancho has agreed personal terms with Manchester United and is on the brink of completing a move. Fortunately for Chelsea, nothing has been finalised yet. It is well known that The Blues would also love to sign the 20-year-old to spice up their attack.

Previously there were talks of offering Callum Hudson-Odoi in an exchange deal to Dortmund but nothing materialised.

When asked about the speculation behind his Old Trafford move, Sancho said, “I’m cool about it. There’s always going to be speculation, especially when you do well.

“It’s just how you handle that on the pitch. You’ve got to keep doing what you’re doing; if you keep on doing that then I’m sure that won’t be a problem. The main thing is my football and that’s what I’m focusing on at the moment.”

Sancho is representing England in the 2020 Euros and understandably will be busy with his international duties. Maybe Chelsea still have some time to convince him into a Stamford Bridge switch instead.
