Gianfranco Zola demands unity from everyone around Chelsea Football club
Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola has admitted that the mood around the camp hasn’t been the best after recent results. He demands unity from everyone as they seek to right the wrongs.
After a no-show at Arsenal, the Blues were hapless in a huge defeat at Bournemouth. Those things went next level when they got smashed by Manchester City 6-0 last Sunday.
They will be hoping for a better display when they face Manchester United in the FA Cup fifth round tie on Monday at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Zola said:
“Nobody is pleased when you lose games the way we did recently.
“Not only the players, but the coaches and everyone.”
Chelsea did respond with a 2-1 win away at Malmo in the Europa League. Now the Italian feels they must back that performance up.
“It’s a moment when we’ve been alternating the results, going from one good performance to a bad one. We don’t like,” Zola said.
“We have to be consistent. We all know this, and it’s important everyone understands the situation and is working on it: coaches, players and club.
“This is important. The unity facing the challenge will make the difference.”
After taking on United, Chelsea will contest the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City next Sunday.
