Croatia national team manager Zlatko Dalic believes that Chelsea should use Mateo Kovacic more frequently to see the best of his capabilities.
Kovacic joined Chelsea this season on loan from Real Madrid as part of the move that saw Thibaut Courtois going to the Bernabeu.So far, the midfielder has featured in three of Chelsea’s four games.
He came on as a substitute against Arsenal and started against Newcastle and Bournemouth.
Dalic said, “He has done well to change clubs. He can only progress by playing constantly. At Real Madrid, he played now and again, and that was not enough for him. He has enormous potential. I hope he will have more opportunities at Chelsea.”
Chelsea are currently 2nd in the Premier League table below Liverpool. They play their next game against Cardiff City on September 15.
