Xabi Alonso has officially signed as Chelsea’s new manager, and he has already made two things clear: Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella are not for sale.

Xabi Alonso’s First Decision as Chelsea Boss: Keep Enzo and Cucurella at All Costs

The Spanish tactician replaces Liam Rosenior at Stamford Bridge after weeks of intense speculation.

Alonso has committed to a four-year deal starting in July, turning down interest from Liverpool to take the Chelsea job.

“Chelsea is one of the biggest clubs in world football,” Alonso said upon his arrival.

The club has granted him significantly more power than recent predecessors, with his official title being manager rather than head coach.

According to Chelsea FC journalist Simon Phillips, Alonso has already begun speaking with his new players.

He has made it crystal clear that both Fernandez and Cucurella must remain part of his squad.

This stance directly challenges growing transfer rumours linking both players to Spain.

El Chiringuito’s Jota Jordi claimed on the Solo para Cules podcast that Cucurella will definitely leave Chelsea this summer, with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid as his top options.

The defender himself admitted in March that a Barcelona move would be “hard to turn down.”

Meanwhile, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez reportedly wants Fernandez as a key signing for his re-election campaign.

Spanish journalist Latigo Serrano claims Perez already knows the Chelsea vice-captain wants to leave for Madrid.

Fernandez recently sparked concern by praising Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos and saying he would “love” to live in Madrid.

But Alonso refuses to accept those exits. He has personally told both players they are central to his plans.

The new manager will fight to keep them at Chelsea, regardless of outside interest.

For now, Fernandez and Cucurella remain Chelsea players. And if Alonso has his way, they will stay that way for a long time.
