Former Chelsea defender William Gallas has made a surprising declaration, advising his old club to reject the opportunity to bring Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah back to Stamford Bridge, even if the Egyptian becomes available as a free agent next summer.

William Gallas Warns Chelsea Against Signing Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah has played for both Chelsea and Liverpool

Salah, now 32, has cemented his status as one of football’s all-time greats during his time at Liverpool.

Since joining the Reds in 2017, he has amassed an astonishing 227 goals in 371 games, playing a pivotal role in their Premier League and Champions League triumphs.

Yet, Gallas believes Salah’s presence would disrupt the harmony Enzo Maresca has cultivated in Chelsea’s young and dynamic squad.

In an interview with Prime Casino, Gallas shared his concerns, saying,

“Chelsea should reject the chance to sign Mohamed Salah as a free agent this summer. I think he would disrupt the squad.”

He emphasized that the current Blues team, under Maresca’s leadership, is built around unity and collective growth rather than star power.

The former French international pointed to the squad’s balance and lack of egos as critical factors in Chelsea’s impressive start to the season.

Rising talents like Cole Palmer have emerged as key figures, and Gallas feels Salah’s arrival could overshadow their development.

“The team is learning and growing together, and it’s working. Bringing in someone like Salah could unsettle that balance,” he added.

Salah’s future at Liverpool remains uncertain. He has entered the final 12 months of his contract and recently admitted that no new deal has been offered, fueling speculation about a potential move.

While Saudi Arabian clubs are reportedly preparing lucrative offers, Salah has expressed disappointment over Liverpool’s lack of urgency to secure his services.

Despite the uncertainty, Salah continues to perform at an elite level, with 13 goals in 14 Premier League matches this season.

If this is his final chapter at Anfield, he seems determined to make it count, as Liverpool lead both the Premier League and their Champions League group.

Gallas’ perspective adds an interesting twist to Salah’s potential departure saga, raising questions about how Chelsea—and the Premier League—would adjust to a player of his caliber switching allegiances.
