Joe Cole thinks Chelsea will secure a top-four finish and they will finish above Spurs and Arsenal.
Chelsea are currently 7th in the League table with 11 points. They have had a mixed start to this season, having won three games from the first seven fixtures.
Joe Cole told BT Sports, “After 10 games now I’m looking at it… top six is acceptable.”
“But I’m looking at it and thinking I can’t see Tottenham or Arsenal finishing above Chelsea.”
“I think maybe the top four is there for them.”
“With Frank, I don’t think it was a conscious effort to come in and play these young players straight away.”
“I think he’s had a lot of his squad and because of the transfer ban there was more and more of them training and he’s looking at it and thinking “well these guys are producing for me, they’re doing the business in pre-season”.
‘I think it’s just happened that way organically. He’s doing well right now.’
Blues are currently level on points with Spurs. However, Spurs look to be in trouble. They suffered a humiliating 2-7 UCL defeat at home against Bayern Munich. And Arsenal are fourth in the League table, with one more point than Chelsea.
Rio Ferdinand thinks that a top-four finish would be good for Frank Lampard’s side. However, they would be content with the top-six finish too.
