What will Lampard's definition of success this season be at Chelsea
Bildbyran

Chelsea have handed their boss Frank Lampard the reins in one of the most difficult seasons ever to be faced by the club.

Despite having a series of young stars ready to come back to the Bridge, Lampard does not have any established striker ahead in his team.

The former Chelsea player and club legend took over this season after Maurizio Sarri, who was only appointed last season left in June. This was despite the Italian reaching the final of the Carabao Cup, winning the Europa League and finishing third in the league to guarantee the Blues a Champions League birth this season.

However, Sarri still complained about the lack of players in certain positions in the team and now the situation is a hundred times worse with players like Gonzalo Higuain, Alvaro Morata and most importantly Eden Hazard having left the club.

Chelsea are in dire need of new players otherwise Lampard cannot be expected to even finish top four. His first team strikers consist of Tammy Abraham, Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud; players you cannot win the league with.

Let’s hope then Lampard can work his magic from the touchline and achieve a top four for that sure would be great success.
