According to reports, West Ham United has made an offer to sign a new forward who was a standout performer at the London Stadium last year. West Ham is reportedly trying to recruit David Datro Fofana from Chelsea, according to Africa Foot.
Premier League competitors Everton is also interested in the player, although the Hammers are said to have made a bid of about €15 million (£12.6 million) for Fofana, while Everton has simply spoken with the forward’s representative. It’s becoming increasingly obvious that Fofana is currently not part of Chelsea’s first team’s plans. If none of these teams signs him permanently, a loan seems likely. The best choices are Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku, with Marc Guiu and David Washington serving as backups.
Two Premier League clubs start the bidding at €15m
The striker, who is only 21 years old, is a target for West Ham and Everton. Both teams are itching to add more goals to their rosters, and Fofana seems like he would be worth a try at the kind of comparatively cheap fees Chelsea are requesting. During his brief six-month loan at Burnley, Fofana demonstrated sufficient ability as well, scoring four league goals for the Clarets.
Molde cost Chelsea £8.6 million to sign in January 2023, so there’s a good chance they’ll turn a small profit on the deal. West Ham reportedly made a bid of €15 million; perhaps Blues can even force them to compete with Everton, which would drive up the price even more.
