Napoli striker Victor Osimhen drops hint over potential transfer to Chelsea

In Sunday’s Super Liga match against Kayserispor, Victor Osimhen, a striker for Napoli and Galatasaray, showed Chelsea his abilities by scoring two goals. As Enzo Maresca looked for forward alternatives to challenge Nicolas Jackson during the summer transfer window, Osimhen was in negotiations with the Blues. As the Serie A team sought to obtain the highest possible sum, Napoli proved to be difficult negotiators, and on deadline day, a move to Saudi Arabia appeared certain for the Nigerian.

But the 25-year-old turned down the idea of relocating to the Middle East, and in the end, organizing a move to Stamford Bridge was too late. Osimhen was expected to languish in the reserves when the window closed in most of Europe, as Antonio Conte showed no interest in bringing him back into the starting lineup.

Chelsea sent surprise Victor Osimhen transfer

He was saved by Galatasaray because their transfer window in Turkey was still open. On the understanding that Napoli’s asking price would be lowered to £62 million, Osimhen consented to a loan transfer for the balance of the season. If an unidentified club matches this amount in January, he could end his loan early and look for a transfer elsewhere.

Notwithstanding these difficulties, Osimhen has flourished in Turkey, tallying ten goals in 14 games for Galatasaray. Considering that Arsenal is in need of a center forward, Chelsea is reportedly among the 10 teams that could be interested in him. However, the Blues might want to keep their money and put it somewhere else because Jackson has been scoring for fun so far this season.
