The club has reportedly reopened talks with his representatives, exploring the possibility of a move in the upcoming transfer window.
However, high wage demands and previous valuation issues have complicated the pursuit.
Ollie Watkins, who scored 27 goals across all competitions last season for Aston Villa, is another striker Chelsea is keen on.
Reports suggest that Chelsea is prepared to meet Villa’s £60 million asking price if a deal for Osimhen doesn’t materialize.
While Chelsea has a young and talented squad, including Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu, Cole believes that adding an experienced striker is crucial for the team’s progression.
