Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has set his sights on Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson as his primary attacking target ahead of the club’s anticipated return to the Champions League next season.

Aston Villa Ready to Pay £60m to Land Chelsea Star Nicolas Jackson

Villa currently sit eight points clear of sixth-placed Brighton in the Premier League table and remain in the Europa League semi-finals, where they face Nottingham Forest.

Emery knows his squad needs more firepower to compete on multiple fronts, and he believes Jackson fits the bill perfectly.

Reports from Sports Boom suggest Villa may part ways with Ollie Watkins this summer after a disappointing campaign.

The England international could leave for around £30m, forcing the club to find a fresh leader for their attack alongside Tammy Abraham.

Jackson, described as “unbelievable” by former coaches, has spent the current season on loan at Bayern Munich.

However, the Bundesliga champions have confirmed they will not trigger their option to make the move permanent.

Chelsea do not expect Jackson to feature in their plans next season despite his contract running until 2033, and they will sanction a permanent exit.

The Blues will demand around £60m for the Senegal striker. While it remains unclear if Villa will meet that price, the club is willing to spend big because Emery remains a huge admirer of the former Villarreal star.

Jackson prefers to stay in the Premier League if he leaves Chelsea, especially with Bayern opting against keeping him. That gives Villa a clear edge in negotiations.

Emery has brought the best out of Watkins during his time at Villa Park, and Jackson shares many of the same qualities.

The 23-year-old presses hard, uses both feet, possesses physical strength, and links play effectively with teammates.

With Emery’s guidance and the right service behind him, Jackson could thrive at Villa Park and even lead the line in the Champions League.

Spending £60m represents a major outlay for Aston Villa, but Emery rarely gets transfer decisions wrong. This deal could take the club to the next level.
