Eden Hazard has hailed Gonzalo Higuain as a “fantastic striker” ahead of the fixture against Manchester City on Sunday evening.
The Belgian star told The Times, “When we have the ball, we have a lot of freedom, not just me but the striker [Gonzalo Higuain] and the right [attacker] Willian or Pedro, so we can move a lot.”
“I’ve only played two games with Higuain and I know we can do something great together, not only with him but also with the other strikers, the other winger. Chelsea is not about Higuain and Hazard, it is about 25 players. But Higuain is a fantastic striker.”
Higuain scored a brace in Chelsea’s 5-0 win over Huddersfield Town through a couple of stunning efforts.
Maurizio Sarri added to Hazard’s sentiments by praising Higuain’s true abilities. The Italian manager said, “I think Gonzalo is a great player,” Sarri explained. “He did very well everywhere. In Madrid, in Naples, in Milan. Maybe not very well in Milan, but he’s a great player and I think he’s very useful for Eden.”
“They are really very suitable to play together, I think. It’s very important for us he’s determined. I think the impact with other players will really be very good for us.”
