Tuchel looks unhappy after dropping points in Russia.
Chelsea Head coach Thomas Tuchel is not happy with the team. He has criticised his Chelsea squad for failing to maintain their offensive mentality when taking a lead in matches.
Chelsea were ahead in the game against the Champions League and scored an early goal. They took a lead again in the second half but still, the team failed to earn the full three points. The Blues settled for a share of the spoils in Russia on Wednesday evening.
It happened in the same manner at Premier League last weekend when they lost to West Ham 3-2 after taking a lead twice.
While speaking to reporters, the Chelsea manager said: “My analysis is very clear: our behaviour changes when we have a lead and this is something we’ve never done and should never do.
“The challenge is to close the door and minimise the possibility. We need a higher level of sprints, runs, concentration levels. The basics need to be pushed while we are in the lead. They can’t drop when we are in the lead. It’s not the big picture.”
Zenit’s equaliser means that Blues have finished second behind in its respective group and they might face either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid in the last 16.
