Transfer Talks: Chelsea’s Most Sought After Targets

It’s going to be transfer window time very very soon and Chelsea is eyeing some targets from several places. 

It’s true that the coronavirus pandemic may have emptied Chelsea’s purse quite a bit. However, the Blues are still looking to sign someone new into their squad. Here are the most sought-after and talked about targets so far.

Napoli striker Dries Mertens was followed by Chelsea boss Frank Lampard on May 11 on Instagram. And we all know that when that happens, it’s usually because a deal has been signed or agreed upon. Chelsea could definitely lighten Giroud’s and Abraham’s load with a new, more experienced striker.

West Ham United centre-back Declan Rice also looks likely to join the Chelsea squad if N’Golo Kante leaves the Blues in the summer transfer window. 

Timo Werner’s agent has launched preliminary talks with Chelsea and Manchester United simultaneously. Further, the RB Leipzig player had stated on May 14 that he wouldn’t like to stay in Bavaria and would want to move someplace else. However, just a while ago, Werner seems to have shunned Chelsea.

Derby County player Max Bird is well-liked by Frank Lampard and his assistant, Jody Morris – and he has the highest possibility of being signed by Chelsea this summer. 

Manchester United’s Angel Gomes also has a high chance of being signed this summer – that’s what the Blues themselves believe.
