Timo Werner Finally Earning High Praise From Chelsea Boss

Timo Werner was unlucky not to score in Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Leicester City.

Antonio Rudiger’s goal and Jorginho’s penalty kick secured all three points for The Blues as they climbed over Leicester in the table.

Werner had a penalty decision ruled out and two of his goals overturned due to offside and a handball. The German looked energetic throughout the 90, making runs into the Leicester box and constantly threatening to score. Even without a goal, he had a positive impact on the game after a poor showing in the FA Cup final.

“It’s his job to be involved in everything and he needs to be involved on Sunday again,” Tuchel told Sky Sports when asked about Werner.

“It’s not time now for extra praise. Enjoy, shut up, enjoy your free day and get ready for Sunday.”

Chelsea are now a point above Leicester and third in the standings. Liverpool are breathing down both of their necks for a top-four position after their close victory over West Brom.

But The Blues can breathe a little easy now. Their final game will be against Aston Villa before they head off for the Champions League final against Manchester City.
