Thomas Tuchel urged fans not to become a distraction against Brentford

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has urged fans not to become a distraction against Brentford.

There is a claim around the Chelsea-Brentford game that fans will protest against the prospect of the Ricketts family buying the club after past comments from Joe Ricketts about Muslims.

Tuchel said: “You have to face the consequences if you are responsible for these kind of quotes.

“If one of the consequences is that the fans protest you have to deal with it.

“I hope the fans remember we have a team challenging in three competitions in a crucial moment of the season and don’t distract them in their approach to the stadium or during the game. We have enough to deal with at the moment.”

Tuchel also admitted he hasn’t met with any of the bidders. He added: “It’s better not to be involved. I cannot change anything.”
