According to the latest reports, Thiago Silva has agreed to sign a two-year contract with Chelsea verbally.
The PSG defender who lost the Champions League final with the Parisians against Bayern Munich announced his farewell from the French club.
Silva tweeted: “It was my last match in Paris. I’m sad. I apologize to the supporters. I thank all the fans for their love.”
Silva has now become a free agent and multiple clubs are lining up to sign the experienced Brazilian.
The 35 year old defender made it clear he wants to play in the next world cup and hence will be choosing his team based on the highest level of competitiveness giving Chelsea the edge over the likes of Fiorentina.
I want to play for 3-4 years more and be part of Brazil team in Qatar World Cup”.
Although he has not accepted any bids, Silva is ready to commit to Chelsea, as explained by trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano.
I’ve not accepted any bid. Reports of agreement reached with Fiorentina are NOT true. My agent is talking with Fiorentina as with other clubs. I’ll decide on next days with my family”.
Chelsea are understood to be hours away from brining the Brazilian to the Bridge.
