Thiago Silva has confirmed his exit from PSG.

The Brazilian captain has bid adieu to the French club as his move to Chelsea looms.

Earlier Silva had given a hint that he was done.

“This was my last match at PSG. I am sad,” Silva told RMC Sport after his team lost the Champions League final to Bayern Munich.

“I apologise to the supporters. I want to thank all the fans for their love.

“I will come back to PSG… I want to play for three or four more years and be at the World Cup in Qatar.”

However, there were new reports after that about PSG making a last ditch effort to keep him. However, it now seem is nothing but over after Silva posted an emotional but final goodbye to Paris.

The value of things is not in the time that they last, but in its intensity. For this reason, there are unforgettable moments, inexplicable things and incomparable people” (Fernando Pessoa),’ wrote Silva.

‘Today a cycle closes, after 8 years at @psg, I would like to thank my teammates, the entire technical team and management, the fans, my family, God and my friends, for all of the good moments we have lived in the City of Light.

‘Here, together with my wife, @bellesilva, we lived unforgettable moments, our children have grown up, we became French citizens, and we will forever bring these years lived in France in our hearts. Thank you so much’
