It’s no secret that Chelsea is struggling with a shortage of players, seeing many players will see their contracts ending this summer.
Frank Lampard is lining up several players that he would like to see at Blues in the summer – 5 in total. And five is the least number of players he expects to sign.
In the next transfer, Lampard is getting ready for a squad rebuild and selling off several players. Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud will be leaving most definitely at the end of the season and Chelsea has made no moves of making a new deal. Willian is also rumoured to be moving, although Chelsea have offered him two years more at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard is currently looking for a striker, according to 90 min. Along with a striker, Chelsea are also keeping an eye out for an attacking midfielder, a centre-back, a left-back and a goalkeeper.
In January, Chelsea’s bid for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele for rejected by the French club. However, the Blues hopes to make a bid again in order to acquire him.
Another striker they are eyeing currently is Arsenal’s captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He is known for his goalscoring abilities and will be a great addition at Stamford Bridge, although a huge loss for Arsenal. He would definitely be a great pairing alongside Tammy Abraham. Aubameyang has 18 months left on his contract with the Gunners and wishes to play in the Champions League – which Chelsea can definitely offer.
Chelsea is also part of the race for Birmingham City starlet Jude Bellingham, although the 16 year old midfielder might be leaning more towards the Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund right now.
Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi is being sought after by the Blues as a centre back – who is having a fantastic season currently and Chelsea is monitoring his progress in Italy. Apparently, according to FCInterNews through Football Italia, Chelsea has already launched talks with his agent Federico Pastorello, who also represents Romelu Lukaku.Â
Leicester City’s left-back Ben Chilwell is also still on Chelsea’s radar, even after their offer was turned down in January.
As for goalkeepers, the Blues have been interested in United’s Dean Henderson. Henderson is currently on loan at Sheffield United. Another goalkeeper option for Lamoard is Ajax’s Andre Onana.
