John Terry has expressed his opinion on the Frank Lampard led Chelsea this season.

Frank Lampard took over Chelsea earlier last summer under intense pressure. The Blues were hit with a transfer ban and had been hit with the loss of their star player Eden Hazard and coach Maurizio Sarri.

With an ageing squad reigning at Chelsea, it was Lampard who was given the managerial position. The former Chelsea player and club legend brought about a holistic revolution at the club. He gave chances in plenty to all the youth academy players and Chelsea have now found themselves of something special with not only CL aspirations on but youngsters coming up in plenty.

Terry said: “It’s been incredible, for me there was no one better than to give Lamps the job.

“With Jody [Morris] as well he’s got someone who knows and trusts the younger players and worked with them at youth team and U18 level, so it’s been a superb mix.

“The expectation has been excellent because the group they’ve had this year have done really, really well.

“I’ve been really impressed with the style of play, the capabilities of the younger players coming through and that mix with the likes of Cesar [Azpilicueta] and the experienced ones helping them along the way, giving them support in Frank’s first season.

“I’m really pleased to see the lads doing so well.”

The Chelsea captain ended his interview by saying he forsees a return for him to the club very soon!
