ESPN FC Pundit Steve Nivol has predicted where Chelsea will finish at the end of the season. Under new boss Frank Lampard, the Blues endured a tough start to the campaign with a 4-0 loss to Manchester United.
However, Chelsea seemed to have mended their ways in the recent months. The Blues are currently placed fifth in the table and Nicol is impressed by the Englishman’s management at the Stamford Bridge.
“The difference with Chelsea is the defending. Frank has really done a good job defensively,” Nicol said.
“The first four games they conceded nine goals and scored four, the next four they scored 12 and lost four, that’s the way it should be.”
“That tells you Frank is making changes that are making a difference.”
“If Frank keeps doing what he’s doing now, keeps it tight at the back – especially Tomori – and keeps scoring goals, they’ll finish in the top four.”
Chelsea will return to Premier League action when they face Newcastle following the international break.
