Thomas Tuchel joined Chelsea last week.
The German coach was brought in to replace Frank Lampard after the club legend started failing miserably. He lost 5 of his last 8 league matches.
Tuchel was brought in to implement a new system. After managing PSG and Dortmund, Tuchel is now having his first experience in the Premier League, with Chelsea.
His former colleaague and Mainz coach Svensson has praised the manager for his tactical brilliance.
“You immediately noticed that he is a special coach and that he thinks a little differently,” Svensson said. “I have never seen such an appearance in front of a team or such training in this form as a player.”
“There were few games under Tuchel that we were surprised at,” the Dane said. “We pressed against Bayern very early in Munich.”
“I was very surprised. But it worked and we won.
Tuchel is known for mixing up training regimes, having intense practice session to make real match experience easier and for following tactics beyond the ordinary measure.
Svensson praised that as well.
“I thought for a moment that he had lost his marbles when I saw that tactic.”
