Maurizio Sarri has made a public claim to the Chelsea board to get him a replacement for the departed Cesc Fabregas.
Maurizio Sarri’s system requires very specific players for specific roles and the Italian coach’s playing style has the most instrumental position for the player who plays the holding midfield role.
Hence when Sarri came to Chelsea, he brought along Jorginho with him. Due to the pressure and intensity of the English league, a backup player is always needed, specially for someone who is so important in the team.
Sarri found that in Cesc Fabregas. However, Chelsea allowed Fabregas to join AS Monaco this season without signing a backup for the midfielder.
Now Sarri has openly hit out at Chelsea for doing so.
“Today Jorginho was in trouble and on the bench there wasn’t a player for that position so I need a player for that position”, he said.
He also said he has n clue if the club was even bothered to give him the players he needs. “I have no idea. The club knows very well my opinion. I need a player there so it depends on the club’s decision. I cannot do any more.”
New manager, same old story at Chelsea.
