Sarri reveals the big problems with Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is one of Chelsea’s brightest prospects.

He came through the ranks as a teenager with the Chelsea youth academy and since has gone on to become one of the stars in the Blues team.

He was sent out on loan and on the verge of leaving the team but since the arrival of Maurizio Sarri last summer, RLC has been given a new deal and a new life at the club.

However, injuries have pegged him back multiple times, and Sarri has now said what he must do to play for Chelsea.

Sarri warned: “I don’t think Ruben will need surgery. We have to control him. He needs probably a particular way of training.

“I think that will be for a long period – probably forever. But I think we can avoid an operation.

“In the last month Ruben has been able to train every day, which for us is very important. Now he is fit and in Frankfurt he played very well. After 75-80 minutes he had cramp. That can happen. But I am really very happy with him.”

Sarri admitted: “I will be happy for him if he is picked – but I think it is better for him to try to recover completely.”
