The FA Cup fifth-round draw between Wrexham and Premier League powerhouse Chelsea on Monday night startled Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. The Welsh team is getting ready to play one of the top teams in England for a spot in the competition’s quarterfinals after making it to the fifth round for the first time since 1997.
Jackman and Reynolds were taken aback by the FA Cup fifth-round draw, which pitted his team, Wrexham, against Chelsea. The two Marvel actors, who are well known for their roles as Wolverine and Deadpool, respectively, could be present at the Stok Cae Ras, where the match will be played.
With Liam Rosenior’s Premier League powerhouses scheduled to visit, Jackman was the first to predict that Wrexham had emerged from the pot. Reynolds writes, “Holy crap,” in the tweet. His response is more fruitful in the video.
Wrexham handed dream FA Cup draw against Chelsea
Wrexham are aiming for the Premier League after enjoying back-to-back promotions; their matchup with Chelsea serves as a good indicator of their current standing. In terms of the last play-off slot, the Championship team is one point behind sixth-place Derby County in eighth place.
Speaking to ESPN earlier this month, manager Phil Parkinson expressed his belief that they are prepared to face the challenge: “Listen, is this club’s back-end structure prepared for the Premier League and would there be an enormous lot of work to take place [if we get there]?
Chelsea have outperformed Championship opponents in the third and fourth rounds and have gone undefeated in their previous five games under Liam Rosenior. After defeating Hull City 4-0 in the fourth round, Rosenior’s team crushed Charlton Athletic 5-1 in the third. They want to go for a third straight triumph next month. Given that they are seven points ahead of the Welsh team in the second division, Hull and Wrexham are comparable in certain ways.
