Ruben Loftus-Cheek could leave Chelsea for good this summer.
The highly-rated academy product has seen his career derailed by constant injuries.
Despite showing plenty of promise early on, he has failed to make the step up into the Blues senior side like Mason Mount and Billy Gilmour. He spent the 2020/21 season out on loan with Fulham after failling out of favour under Frank Lampard.
Loftus-Cheek was not particularly impressive for The Cottagers to convince Thomas Tuchel into keeping him. But one coach who still views him in favourable light is Maurizio Sarri. It was under the Italian that Loftus-Cheek played his best football for Chelsea before going down to an Achilles heel injury.
Sarri is on his way over to Lazio after Simeone Inzaghi left the managerial seat vacant to take charge of Inter Milan. Sarri has enjoyed success in Serie A and is tipped to bring in players of his own liking. Loftus-Cheek fits the technical profile that Sarri likes.
Chelsea, on the other hand, are looking to make additions to their midfield. Loftus-Cheek like many others could be a part of a mass exodus from Stamford Bridge this summer.
