Ronaldo created divide between Tuchel and Boehly before sacking

Thomas Tuchel was not in favour of the club signing Ronaldo.

As per the reports to Metro, Thomas Tuchel sprained his relationship with Chelsea owner Todd Boehly when the pair clashed over the pursuit of Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer transfer window.

Tuchel has been officially sacked by the club after Chelsea’s poor performance in the Champions League opener. He was given a free shot to take part in who to bring during the transfer window. The owner spent a good amount on players wanted by the German.

The former Chelsea boss was not in favour of the club signing Ronaldo. Boehly also met with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes to discuss the possibility of this move happening.

The Portuguese was even keen on a move to Chelsea, as Boehly thought he had found a replacement for Romelu Lukaku. Tuhcel was clear about his signings and he clearly said that he doesn’t want Ronaldo in his team.

The German was keen to sign Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and he got succeed.

This difference of opinion was enough to strain the relationship between Boehly and Tuchel.

It has been a disappointing start to the season for Chelsea. They haven’t impressed in Premier League and the defeat in Champions League added more questions.

Meanwhile, the pressure is on the owners now to make the right appointment, otherwise, it could spiral downwards.
