Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Chelsea’s transfer plans ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.
“Romano: Chelsea in no rush for January signings”
With the winter market fast approaching, speculation continues to swirl around possible moves, but Romano believes fans shouldn’t expect much activity from the Blues.
Speaking via GiveMeSport on YouTube, Romano revealed that Chelsea are currently content with their squad and not in active pursuit of any new signings.
“At the moment, it is very quiet. Chelsea are happy with their squad and are not seeking any player and have not started any conversations with any new centre-back for the January window,” he said.
Romano added that while the club always keeps an eye on potential opportunities, there is no urgency to make additions at this stage.
“Chelsea are always monitoring the market, we know that. They are always attentive to opportunities.
They also felt last summer in August that there was probably no player available on the market for Chelsea who could make an impact,” he explained.
This update comes amid recent reports linking Chelsea with a Premier League right-back, a player also attracting interest from Barcelona and Manchester City.
However, it appears that any concrete moves are unlikely in the immediate future.
Under manager Enzo Maresca, Chelsea have shown signs of progress in the Premier League, including a recent victory over Wolves.
The Italian coach praised Malo Gusto’s performance in that match, describing him as an important player for the team.
That confidence in the current squad may explain the club’s relaxed stance ahead of January.
While fans always anticipate big moves during transfer windows, Romano’s comments suggest Chelsea could opt for stability rather than spending this winter.
Unless a major opportunity arises, the Blues seem set to rely on their current players as they continue their push for a strong finish in the Premier League.
