Roman Abramovic is preparing to fund three big deals for Chelsea in the coming summer.
Frank Lampard has recognized the areas that need improvement in the current squad and all of his top three targets will be expensive.
This February, fans were overjoyed to hear about the £33.5m signing of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax. However, the results have dried up too much in recent times under Lampard, indicating that further reinforcements are necessary.
Jadon Sancho is at the top of Chelsea’s wishlist who reportedly could cost over £100m. Lampard is also aiming for the likes of Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell. Some reports claim that Werner has a release clause worth £50m in his current contract. Liverpool are also interested in the RB Leipzig forward but the deal is set to expire in April. That means any interested party will have to pull the trigger fast.
Leicester City have refused to sell any of their top players during their very successful Premier League campaign. However, there is no guarantee over what might happen after this season. Chilwell is an England international and one of the best in his position in the league. He would answer a lot of issues at Chelsea over a spot which has been problematic for years.
Abramovich must have witnessed the steep drop in form the Blues have gone through recently. While Lampard has directed the club towards a promising path, he will still need the right tools to deliver results. After a season of very low investements, the Russian owner could be convinced on splashing a large sum in July.
