It has been a memorable few weeks for Walsh, who recently became the youngest player ever to appear for Chelsea in the Champions League, featuring in the 5-1 win over Ajax at just 17 years and two days old.

Days later, the talented teenager signed his first professional contract with the club, marking a major milestone in his promising career.

Although Walsh did not travel with the senior squad for Wednesday’s 2-2 draw with Qarabag in Azerbaijan, he continues to train closely with the first team and learn from experienced stars around him.

Speaking to Chelsea FC, Walsh opened up about his playing style and influences.

“I’d say I’m a creative and intelligent midfielder, very technical with both feet,” he explained.

“I like to receive on the turn, play forward, and link up the play.

I’m confident driving with the ball and making things happen in the final third. Off the ball, I work hard and always try to contribute with goals or assists.”

When asked about players he looks up to, Walsh did not hesitate to name Palmer.

“Cole Palmer, for sure,” he said.

“He’s so creative and unpredictable. He sees the game differently and makes things happen out of nowhere.

Watching him closely has been inspiring. He’s a player I try to learn from every time I see him play or train.”

Walsh has already made two senior appearances this season — against Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup and Ajax in the Champions League and is seen as one of the most exciting prospects emerging from Chelsea’s academy.
