Ziyech done, Werner on the way and now Chelsea are targeting Kai Havertz!
Frank Lampard is keen on bringing around a revolution based on youth at the Bridge. The wheels were set in motion last summer when he took over the club with a transfer ban imposed on them and decided to play his young youth team players instead of developed first team veterans.Â
Willian, Giroud, Pedro, Alonso are all already on fringes leaving Kante and Azpilicueta as the only senior figures who have spent more than two seasons at the Bridge. While Azpi is captain and set to marshall the defence, Kante’s situation could be tricky.Â
There is no denying the player’s calibre. However, how much does Lampard need it in his style of play? With Ruben Loftus-Cheek back, Jorginho and Kovacic in the fold, Gilmour rising, Lampard has made it clear he wants ball-playing midfielders.Â
So Kante could be set to leave and Real Madrid believes they have a trick of their own up their sleeve. N’Golo is the best in his position so it would seem that the Galacticos would have to dish out a fortune to land him. However, Real are patiently waiting for Chelsea to amp up their spending which is already verging on  £100 million and summer has not even started yet.Â
So once Chelsea do overspend and need to balance the books, Real will want to swoop in for Kante and negotiate a last minute deal for lesser money which Chelsea might be forced to accept to balance the books.Â
Neat little plan, but more on the far-fetched end for now.Â
