Gerard Martin and Alejandro Balde are Barcelona’s two solid left-back alternatives, but selling either would result in a huge profit. Meanwhile, Real Madrid has gotten to the point where it is absolutely necessary to acquire a new left-back, in part because of David Alaba’s injury problems.
Fran Garcia is seen as someone they would be willing to replace if the appropriate opportunity arose, and Ferland Mendy is similarly regarded.
