Leeds attacker Raphinha rejects Chelsea; orders Deco to end talks
Raphinha, forward for Leeds United, backed out of negotiations with Chelsea. Raphinha calls on them to end negotiations and reports that he has informed his representation that he does not want to join Chelsea.
Chelsea appeared to have jumped to the head of the line, outbidding Arsenal’s first bid. The Brazilian, however, has ordered agency Deco to end negotiations since he doesn’t want to travel to west London.
The player is still committed to completing his desired transfer to Barcelona. South American athletes have traditionally found the Catalans to be the ideal destination, and the Leeds star is no exception as he watches for their departure.
However, the Spanish side is having financial difficulties and is now unable to raise the required funds. They are still waiting for Frenkie de Jong to sign with Manchester United in order to raise money, part of which they have already set aside to recruit Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich as their striker.
It is still up to the final wire to see where Raphinha is headed to.
