According to a recent report by the Spanish website Fichajes, Paris Saint-Germain have increased their focus to capture Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger during the summer transfer season.
Antonio Rudiger has been a vital part in Tuchel’s defence since he took over at Chelsea. Rudiger also played a key role in Chelsea’s UCL victory last season, in which they preserved a number of clean sheets, including one against Manchester City in the finals.
The Chelsea defender’s contract expires at the end of the season, and he is said to be a free agent target for Paris Saint-Germain, with the Blues defender being offered a €7 million-a-year contract.
After a rocky start to his Chelsea career, the German international has now solidified his spot in the team and is an important part of Chelsea’s great defence, which has maintained several clean sheets with Rudiger on the pitch. The German connection of Rudiger and Thomas Tuchel is working wonderfully for the club, and the results are visible on the field, with Chelsea conceding only 16 goals in 21 Premier League games.
Chelsea is said to be struggling to satisfy Antonio Rudiger’s wage demands this season, as he enters the last year of his contract. After five seasons with the club in London, it is not surprising that the German would seek a new challenge next season.
