Former Chelsea winger Pat Nevin has detailed out on a big problem Lampard has before the Southampton clash.
Chelsea will be facing Southampton on Saturday for the Premier League clash.
And Lampard has a pretty big dilemma to solve before the match. Chelsea’s squad is looking very healthy currently, filled with fresh new signings and eagerness from the existing players.
So the problem arises here – who will Lampard choose for the starting squad on Saturday? It’s definitely mystifying for the Blues manager.
Writing in his column for Chelsea FC’s website, Nevin said: “Had Reece James and Mason Mount not got those caps over the past week, they might have come back to training at Cobham far from bubbly.
“As it is they will be buzzing, happy and confident, the perfect recipe for players to produce their best football.
“Because of this, Frank has a very tough task picking the team for Southampton on Saturday with those two up for it as much as they have ever been.
“The favourite problem any manager ever has.”
However, Lampard needs to choose carefully because even with new signings worth over £200 million, Chelsea is still not achieving the best results – as seen in the 3-3 draw away at West Brom, and earlier their defeat to Liverpool.
So who will he pick? It’s a dilemma indeed.
