Napoli agrees on a deal for Chelsea man with three years contract

Former Chelsea star Pat Nevin has thrown his support behind Pedro Neto, firmly believing the Portuguese winger will prove his critics wrong despite a challenging start to life at Stamford Bridge.

Neto, who joined Chelsea for £45 million, has struggled to find his rhythm amid fierce competition for attacking spots under manager Enzo Maresca.

Nevin, who knows a thing or two about performing under pressure in the Premier League, shared his thoughts on Neto’s potential, highlighting the winger’s undeniable talent.

Speaking passionately in a recent interview, Nevin said, “People have been quick to criticize, but they shouldn’t write him off. I’ve seen what Pedro Neto can do, and he has the quality to turn things around.”

Neto, a fan-favorite during his time at Wolverhampton Wanderers, has yet to replicate that form consistently at Chelsea. With players like Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke thriving this season, breaking into the starting lineup has been a tall order.

Palmer, in particular, has locked down his position with a series of impressive performances, while Madueke continues to show his flair on the wings.

Despite the stiff competition, Nevin believes Neto just needs more time to adapt to the expectations at a club of Chelsea’s magnitude.

“He’s got the pace, the skill, and the work ethic. It’s a matter of getting the right opportunities. Once he gets a run of games, I’m confident he’ll start proving everyone wrong,” Nevin added.

As the season progresses, Chelsea’s busy schedule may offer Neto more chances to showcase his abilities in various competitions.

And with Nevin’s backing, it’s clear the 24-year-old won’t be short of motivation to make his mark.
