Goztepe have the option to sign David Datro Fofana on a permanent basis at the end of the 2024-25 season.
Chelsea have confirmed the departure of one more player as their out-of-favour striker David Datro Fofana moved to Turkish club Goztepe SK on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 21-year-old was not in Chelsea’s future plans ahead of the new season. Enzo Maresca wanted to leave him out from the main squad. He was supposed to join another English club before the deadline day.

David Datro Fofana looked set to join AEK Athens in a loan deal with an option to make his stay permanent for £20m. Deal didn’t happen due to failed negotiation.
Turkish Super Lig clubs were still able to bring in new faces on deadline day and they signed Chelsea outcast on loan. They confirmed the signing of the Ivory Coast international on Friday evening. They have the option to sign him on a permanent basis at the end of the 2024-25 season.
Goztepe said in a statement, “An agreement has been reached with professional football player David Datro Fofana and Chelsea Football Club Limited for a season-long deal with an option to buy. We extend a warm welcome to David Datro Fofana and wish him the best of luck in his journey with our glorious club.”
David Fofana made only four appearances since his arrival in the winter of 2023. He has also been loaned out to Union Berlin and Burnley, scoring six goals across those two spells.
