The Catalan giants tried to give the 18-year-old striker a new deal but he was not clear about his future at first-team. Robert Lewandowski and Vitor Roque are ahead of him in the main XI.
Guiu was not happy with Barcelona and he wanted to play regular football. Chelsea have signed him on a five-year deal and as per reports, he will earn a €1m salary per annum.
Guiu made his senior debut this season for Barca, scoring the winner against Athletic Club. The 18-year-old spent most of the season with Barca Atletic in the third tier.
Marc Guiu speaks on why he left Barça for Chelsea, “My main reason for wanting to sign for Chelsea was the football and sporting project the club is offering me here”.
“I feel the trust everyone who works at the club is putting in me. The plan here is exciting”.
