Satpayev’s journey with FC Kairat began at the tender age of eight. He etched his name in the club’s history books by becoming the youngest player to make a first-team appearance, debuting in May 2024.
His impressive record includes 27 goals in 28 matches for Kairat’s U18 team. Additionally, as a Kazakhstan U17 international, he contributed a goal and an assist in four UEFA Youth League qualification matches earlier this season.
FC Kairat announced the transfer on their official Instagram account, stating:
“Dastan Satpayev will continue his career at Chelsea. Almaty’s Kairat and London’s Chelsea have reached an agreement on the transfer of the 16-year-old striker.
In the summer of 2026, after reaching the age of majority, he will officially join the English club. Until that time, Satpayev will continue to play for Kairat.
Congratulations to Dastan on this important step in his career! We are proud of his achievements and are confident that new heights await him!”
This acquisition aligns with Chelsea’s recent strategy under Clearlake Capital’s ownership, focusing on securing top young talent globally to build a dominant force in European football.
Similar approaches have been taken with players like Kendry Paez and Estevao Willian, who are set to join Chelsea upon turning 18.
While Chelsea has yet to release an official statement regarding Satpayev’s signing, the move underscores the club’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent and planning for sustained success in the future.
