Torino had previously shown interest in Casadei but initially fell short of Chelsea’s asking price, which was set between €20-25 million.
According to reports, Chelsea later reduced their valuation to €15 million to facilitate the transfer, while insisting on a sell-on clause of approximately 35-40%, which could prove beneficial in the future.
Casadei underwent a medical examination with Torino on Friday, and official confirmation of the transfer is anticipated imminently.
While clubs from La Liga, Ligue 1, and the Eredivisie had also expressed interest, Chelsea preferred a permanent transfer over a loan arrangement.
Reflecting on his time at Stamford Bridge, Casadei previously stated his desire to fight for his place in the team, acknowledging the high level of competition within the squad.
He emphasized the importance of such competition in aiding his development as a player.
This move marks a significant step in Casadei’s career, offering him the opportunity for more consistent playing time in Serie A.
Chelsea, in turn, secures a substantial fee and retains a stake in the player’s future success through the sell-on clause.
