The German Rekordmeister has focused on Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku throughout the summer transfer window after he was left off of the team for the Blues’ Premier League debut at Stamford Bridge against Crystal Palace. For a long time, Bayern has been interested in the France international, and earlier this summer, Nkunku was mentioned as one of Florian Wirtz’s backup alternatives.

According to TalkSport Premier League analyst and senior correspondent for GiveMeSport Ben Jacobs, Bayern is reportedly becoming more hopeful that they will be able to get Nkunku before the transfer window ends.

The player has stated that he is amenable to leaving Stamford Bridge, and at this point, talks are still going on over the specifics of a possible transfer to Bayern. Since Nkuku now has a contract with Chelsea that expires in June 2029 and is valued at about €35 million, Bayern would probably need to pay between €35 and €40 million to get the winger.

Bayern Munich step up Nkunku pursuit

Nkunku is crucial to Chelsea’s ability to go forward and finalize a deal for Simons because they need the 27-year-old to depart to make room in the team. Inter Milan has expressed interest in the France international, but it seems that a return to the Bundesliga with Bayern is his top choice.

Bayern and Chelsea began negotiations for Nkunku earlier this week; however, it’s thought that they would prefer a loan with a buyout clause. Chelsea has stated that they want to sell Nkunku permanently, and they are apparently expecting €40 million plus add-ons.

Romano has already given an update on the issue, and Nkunku has already consented to personal terms with Bayern. He said on his YouTube account, “Bayern Munich is going strong for Christopher Nkunku.”

“I’ve heard that throughout the past four or five days, club-to-club contacts have been going on every day. As a result, the two teams are currently debating the numbers, the formula, and everything else. Although the two teams are having a talk, a deal is not yet finalized.
