N'Golo Kante Injury Fears Erased By Chelsea Boss

Thomas Tuchel has calmed fears over N’Golo Kante’s injury.

Fans looked worried when the Frenchman was brought off early in the 2-1 win over Leicester City.

Kante is an integral part of this side and Chelsea cannot afford to lose him ahead of the Champions League final against Manchester City. However, Tuchel did state that the midfielder’s substitution was more of a precautionary move.

“N’Golo is not injured,” Tuchel said. “He went out before the injury. He said he would get injured if he continued to play.

“We put out Kova that was a risk but it was the moment to take risk as it was a game of highest importance. I am happy it worked out. Hopefully, NG will come back as we are a different team with him.”

Even France head coach, Didier Deschamps would be worried about Kante after last night’s events. The 30-year-old has become very injury prone over the past few seasons but his quality is undeniable on the pitch, Without Kante, it is unlikely Chelsea would have managed to see out games with such defensive solidity.

Chelsea’s next game will be against Aston Villa before they head off to Porto.
