Nicolas Jackson is the greatest candidate available, even though Newcastle United is well down their wanted list for a replacement for Alexander Isak.

Ben Jacobs, a GIVEMESPORT transfer writer, has reported that Jackson is on the Magpies’ shortlist to take Isak’s spot. There is still uncertainty around the Swedish forward’s future at St. James’ Park as he pushes for a move to Liverpool, who are interested.

Since Liam Delap and João Pedro joined Stamford Bridge, Jackson has slipped in the hierarchy, and Eddie Howe’s team is reportedly the front-runner to recruit the 24-year-old. After telling Chelsea that he wanted to leave west London, he is said to have trained by himself on Friday. Milan has also been linked to the 24-year-old.

Chelsea had valued him at £80 million, but they are expected to accept a lower price of about £65 million as they try to reconfigure their attacking options by adding Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United and Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig.

Chelsea to accept Newcastle’s big offer for Nicolas Jackson

A little less audacious, Football Insider reporter Pete O’Rourke said that although Maresca has made it possible for Jackson to leave, the club “are holding out for a huge fee of around £80m.

However, according to O’Rourke, a “big offer” from Newcastle will be accepted. On the Inside Track podcast, he stated, “Enzo Maresca has refused to rule out a move away for Nicolas Jackson.”

Joao Pedro and Liam Delap’s arrivals likely tell you all you need to know: Maresca is allowing the Senegal international to continue his career.

Given Newcastle’s continued difficulties trying to sign a top-tier striker this summer, he has been linked to the team. Chelsea won’t obstruct Jackson if they receive a sizable bid because they have been proactive in their outgoings in recent weeks.

“However, it appears that they are negotiating for a hefty sum of about £80 million.” We’ll have to wait and see if Newcastle or any other team finds that to be too wealthy.
