In order to recruit 24-year-old Senegalese international Nicolas Jackson during the summer transfer window, Newcastle United is prepared to give Chelsea £60 million.

Newcastle United is reportedly interested in Nicolas Jackson, per a report from TEAMtalk. Given the uncertainty surrounding Alexander Isak’s long-term future, the Magpies are keen to strengthen their attacking unit by adding a striker during the summer transfer window. Thus, the Tyneside team became interested in the dynamic 24-year-old Chelsea forward.

Newcastle United is happy with the change in the West London club’s asking price, which has decreased from £80 million to £60 million. Eddie Howe is certain that Jackson can take Isak’s position at St. James’ Park, and the 2024–25 EFL Cup champions are prepared to pay Chelsea’s asking price. They haven’t decided whether to make Chelsea a formal offer yet, though.

Despite making great strides since moving from Villarreal to Chelsea in July 2023 for £32 million, Nicolas Jackson has reached a turning point in his career.

Newcastle ready to pay Chelsea’s new Jackson price

According to reports, Newcastle United has reduced the number of strikers on their want list in an attempt to replace Alexander Isak, who is anticipated to go. Newcastle World claims that Chelsea player Nicolas Jackson has been selected, and the Magpies are apparently giving the attacker significant attention.

Although the exact amount Chelsea would demand to trade Jackson is unknown, it will be a hefty sum considering that he would still need to be replaced even with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap. Given the possibility that his playing time, at least as a starter, may be cut this upcoming season, Jackson is allegedly eager to go.

Eddie Howe thinks he can eventually replace Isak; therefore, the potential transfer for the former Villarreal forward is one step closer. Newcastle United, meanwhile, is happy that Chelsea decided to lower Jackson’s asking price from £80 million to £60 million, and the team is prepared to match the West London club’s asking price.

The 24-year-old Senegalese international’s decision to quit Chelsea and sign with Newcastle United during the summer transfer window will thus be intriguing to watch.
