According to reports, Napoli made a fresh bid for the Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku after asking for Carney Chukwuemeka during talks with Chelsea. Following Partenopei’s 3-0 loss to Hellas Verona on Sunday, talks between Napoli and Chelsea to bring Lukaku to the Stadio Maradona recommenced.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, a transfer specialist for Sky Sport Italia, Napoli has not increased its bid but instead has put out a loan agreement with Chelsea that includes a buyout clause, all for €25 million plus €5 million in add-ons. If Napoli doesn’t make a better offer that is closer to Lukaku’s €43 million clause, it is unlikely that they will be able to unlock the agreement.
During talks with the Blues, TMW and DAZN reported that Napoli also asked about Chukwuemeka. The 20-year-old might sign a free transfer to Napoli with a €15–20 million buyout option. Antonio Conte has requested two new central midfield players.
Osimhen to Chelsea takes huge twist as Blues edge closer to transfer
Victor Osimhen’s road to Chelsea is apparently opening up as Paris Saint-Germain loses interest in the Napoli striker. Throughout the Osimhen drama, PSG has been the Blues’ biggest challenger, but an asking price of more than £100 million has seemed to be too much to ask.
Romelu Lukaku is now being discussed by Napoli and Chelsea in hopes of becoming the Nigerian’s replacement. The Nigerian is anticipated to depart Napoli prior to this month’s transfer deadline. A bid of €30 million (£25 million) has been made by Napoli to the Blues, which includes a season-long loan with an obligation to buy next summer, while the Osimhen front is being worked on.
