Mount - Lampard switch set me up for goal

Mason Mount has credited Frank Lampard for the tactical switch which set up his match winner.

Chelsea won the match 1-0 against local rivals Fulham. The goal came from Mason Mount who was the only constant threat throughout the match.

And now Mount has said that the tactical switch from Lampard in the second half allowed him to get into the scoring position.

“I turned 22 [last Sunday] and now I have two goals so it has been a good week and hopefully that continues,” Mount told Chelsea’s website.

“I should have had two against Fulham really, I should have scored in the first half, but I am happy with one as well.

“Jorginho went off and the manager brought Tammy [Abraham] on and then Timo [Werner] on so I dropped a bit deeper, and I was in there with Kov so I told him to sit a bit and that allowed me to go a bit more forward, and then I found myself in the box which recently in the last couple of weeks I haven’t been doing.

“I haven’t been getting in the box as much and that was something I looked at. I managed to get in there in this game and it fell to me.”
