Maurizio Sarri insists Gonzalo Higuain has brought a different dimension to the Chelsea side as apart from scoring goals, the striker can be very effective creatively.
Higuain netted a brace in the 5-0 thrashing of Huddersfield Town to make everyone aware of his presence. Sarri was determined to replace Alvaro Morata with the Argentine forward and Higuain has already pointed out what Chelsea had been missing prior to his arrival.
The Blues sent Morata to Atletico Madrid for one and a half season loan and opted to bring Higuain from AC Milan to fulfil Sarri’s e demand. Despite having Morata and Olivier Giroud at his disposal the Italian manager expressed his dissatisfaction for not having a proper goal poacher at his disposal.
He even used Hazard as a false nine but failed to grind out the needed result. With Manchester City up against them, Sarri would be hoping Higuain maintains his scoring streak against the defending champion.
Sarri said, “Gonzalo is a great player, a great striker.
“He did very well in Madrid, in Naples, with Juventus. He arrived very motivated, and I think he will be very useful for us.
“He can score, of course, but he is really very able to play with his team-mates too. He can be very useful for Eden [Hazard] and Willian.”
